Romans 8:26-27 "And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." (NASB)
The Holy Spirit is our Helper
He helps us in our weakness and in our sinful nature. It is the Holy Spirit who guides us when we call out to God for strength when facing temptation. It is also the work of Holy Spirit to convict us of sin. He yearns to bring us into a deeper relationship with the living God.
The Holy Spirit is our Intercessor
He is our prayer partner. He helps us to pray with groans which cannot be uttered. With the gifting of the Holy Spirit some excel in prayer supporting the body of Christ. Others pray and follow through with encouragement to their peers.
The Holy Spirit is our Teacher
John 16:13 "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come." (NASB)
The Holy Spirit leads us in the Will Of God For Our Lives
John 14:15-17 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you." (NASB)
If you commit your ways to God you will gravitate to the things He has for you to do in this life.
This is the leading of the Holy Spirit as you commit yourself daily to prayer, Bible study and worshiping the living God. As we spend time with God we become more like the man or woman He created us to become. During this process our desires will become focused on the plans God has for our life.
The Holy Spirit is in believers preparing us for eternity.
John 14:2-3 "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." (NASB)
In summary: The Holy Spirit is for us to help our infirmities. even while we are in this body of humiliation, this body of flesh, we are not left alone, for the Holy Spirit helps us.
