The God That Rocked My World
James 1:2 "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials" (NASB)
God rocked my world in the snap of a finger - in the middle of the night. My physical life was changed forever more. The problem was, I wasted four years being angry and confused to GET IT. Oh, how much time I wasted!! God even tells us, we will face trials and tribulations. So why are we surprised when they happen? I picked up my Bible after a very long time and started from the beginning. God rocked my world again.
Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." (NASB)
From the very beginning there was the trinity - Awesome! Not only was the Father, Son and Holy Spirit together from the beginning - God created us in his image. He wanted so much for us to be like Him. God rocked my world again.
Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." (NASB)
Being reminded that God formed me and knitted me together in the womb before I was born, and set me apart (predestined) - WOW! It is just like forming man in his own image (being Adam), but God still does that for each and every one of us. Then He rocked my world again.
Matthew 10:30 "But the very hairs on your head are all numbered." (NASB)
God is so involved in our lives that He knows every detail about us. It should be easy for us to give control of our lives to Him. It should be easy for us to see through trials and tribulations. Yes, He is aware when we hurt, suffer and go through tribulations, etc. He is with us to teach us and to help us grow closer to Him. Then He rocked my world again!
Joshua 1:5 "No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you." (NASB)
This is not just an Old Testament promise to Joshua.
Hebrews 13:5-6 "Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, 'I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,' so that we confidently say, 'The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?'" (NASB)
Matthew 28:20b "... I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (NASB)
What more could we ask for! First, ask Jesus into your life as your personal Savior. Then all we need to do is be content with our worldly circumstances. This world is temporary for us! Paul was in prison most of his ministry and yet states he is content. What a comfort! We need to realize that God is always right there. Rock my World! What more could God do for me!
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." (NASB)
l John 2:1b-2 "And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world." (NASB)
Can you even imagine sending your only son who's been with you since the very beginning to not only die, but to be humiliated and die painfully for a people who some will reject. I'm quite certain if there was any other way to get us into Heaven, God would have done it. The crucifixion of God's son was the only way to bridge the gap. It rocks my world that there is that much love, and I was whining and wallering in self pity.
l Corinthians 15:3-5 "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve." (NASB)
In retrospect - yes - God rocked my world. Not only mine but Job's and John's and so many others. He also rocked my work and yours from creation to today in more ways than imagined. After a year of learning how to walk and four years of grieving the loss of the person I was (a God serving woman in many ministries), I realized my pruning was necessary. When God is in your life as Savior and leader, He will rock your world. Now I focus on the blessings that hold my world together: my salvation, the gift of a God fearing husband, my children, the ability to entertain strangers because they may be Angels! Just imagine!
Hebrews 13:2 "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it." (NASB)
Wow - trials and tribulations come to all of us in this fallen world. What we have to struggle to remember is God's love for us is unlike any other. We can hand over anything to Him and He will use it, and we will be blessed and content. When we stand before the judgement seat we all want to hear - "Well done, my good and faithful servant"!
Romans 2:14-16 "For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness, and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus." (NASB)
The second coming will be the final time (possibly) that God Rocks My World. But then I think of; the streets of gold - the crystal sea - the banquet table - the mansions - the angels singing etc.
God will rock your world from before you were born - through your life on earth, and again in your eternal home in heaven. WOW!
Be content and rest in Him, lean on Him, draw closer to Him and hand things over to His care.
