Heaven Series - The Eight No More's

Many people do not want to read or study the Book of Revelation due to all the signs and symbols. But all the symbols are explained, mostly in the Old Testament and some in the New Testament. The best thing you can do to get you on fire for God is to get a study book along with a teacher or laymen who has studied the book of Revelation. This will help you with the interpretation process. Most churches have a discipleship class on Revelation at least once a year with a study book, and that is a great way to start.

No More Sea

Revelation 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea." NASB

The sea is a great, restless, destructive, and separation element of nature, which will cease to exist.

Isaiah 57:20 "But the wicked are like the tossing sea, For it cannot be quiet, And its waters toss up refuse and mud." NASB

No More Tears

Revelation 21:4a "And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes" NASB
Isaiah 65:19 "I will also rejoice in Jerusalem, and be glad in My people; And there will no longer be heard in he the voice of weeping and the sound of crying." NASB

If you were crying when you became absent from the body and in the presence of God - He will wipe those tears away permanently.

No More Death

Revelation 21:4b "And there shall no longer be any death" NASB

Death was caused by sin starting in Genesis. It is man's worst enemy and last enemy to be destroyed.

1 Corinthians 15:26 "The last enemy that will be abolished in death." NASB
Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken." NASB

Thank God, in that "Holy City" there will be no more sad farewells caused by death.

No More Sorrow

Revelation 21:4c "There shall no longer be any mourning" NASB
Revelation 18:15-18 "The merchants of these things, who became rich from her, will stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, she who was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls; for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!' And every shipmaster and every passenger and sailor, and as many as make their living by the sea, stood at a distance, and were crying out as they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What city is like the great city?'" NASB

Just try to imagine one day of joyful fellowship and praise with no greed, grumbling, gossip, hurt feelings, nothing to mourn over, etc. This will be our eternity.

No More Crying

Revelation 21:4d "There shall no longer be any crying" NASB

This word is often translated as weeping.

Jeremiah 9:1 "Oh, that my head were waters, And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!" NASB

You've heard of the weeping prophet Jeremiah. My favorite of many weeping descriptions is Psalm 126:5-6 -Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.

No more Pain

Revelation 21:4e "There shall no longer be any pain" NASB

There are many here on earth presently suffering with physical pain. Some facing chemo and some facing unknown surgeries, some who have been in a car accident, soldiers with lost limbs, etc. The mortal body will be gone and the new body will be new and perfect.

No More Night

There will be no more night.

Revelation 21:25-27 "And in the daytime (for there shall be no night there) its gates shall never be closed and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it and nothing unclean and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life." NASB
Revelation 22:5 "And there shall no longer be any night; and they shall not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of he sun, because the Lord God shall illumine them; and they shall reign forever and ever." NASB

No More Curses

Revelation 22:3a "And there shall no longer be any curse" NASB

Sin entered into the world.

Genesis 3:14 "And the Lord God said to the serpent, 'Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast o the field; On your belly shall you go, And dust shall you eat all the days of your life" NASB

Then the woman was cursed.

Genesis 3:16 "To the woman He said, 'I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth, In pain you shall bring forth children, Yet your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.'" NASB

The ground was also cursed.

Genesis 3:17 "Then to Adam He said, 'Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, "You shlal not eat from it" cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life.'" NASB

Adam was cursed.

Genesis 3:19 "By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken; For you are dust, and to dust you shall return." NASB

The curse brought pain, sorrow, subjection, thorns, and sweat.

Even today, all people who are under the works of the law are cursed.

Galatians 3:10 "For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a nurse; for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the Law, to perform them.'" NASB

We need to remember that salvation is by grace through faith, not by works of the law.

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." NASB

Doesn't it sound wonderful to know that this earth is just our temporary home. We are just passing through. Salvation is free and requires no works; but if you are truly a believer you will want to do works to bring others into the fold and to enjoy the forever brightness of heaven. If you're just being good and keeping the Ten Commandment's, etc., that's all in vain. You must first ask Jesus to be your personal savior, and let him lead your life through his word. Develop a personal relationship with Him so you can hear His still, soft, voice.
