More Than A Conqueror

Are You Competitive?

This is great in war but especially in your spiritual life. That's why God tells us to fight the good fight (not any fight - just the good fight) - is there something more than winning? What could be better? Do you want to win and more? This is a great attitude to have in your spiritual life. First, we have to do our part and run the race as to get the prize.

1 Corinthians 9:24 "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win." NASB
Romans 8:33-37 "Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus isHe who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, 'For Thy sake we are beingput to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.' But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us." NASB

These verses tell us of a few of the things our heavenly father guarantees you will be able to conquer through Him. People that judge, condemnation, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, threats, and death.

What Is The Prize?

Romans 8:31-32 "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?" NASB
Psalms 60:4 "Thou hast given a banner to those who fear Thee, That it may be displayed because of the truth." NASB

The beginning of this chapter is talking about the people praying to God for revival. Not only will he help dig us out of the messes we get into, but he will shield us with a banner. But like I mentioned in the beginning, we have to be relentless in our spiritual life. Running a race as hard as we can. Recognize when we go off course.

Proverbs 16:3 "Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established." NASB

In other words; give it to God and he will make it so. Of course, it has to be according to his will. Not everyone who prays that their loved ones will get better will have that prayer answered to their liking. God has a specific agenda, but he will give us what we ask for and make sure that we succeed if it is in accordence to his will. And what that? That all should come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and have a personal relationship with him.

1 John 2:25 "And this is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life." NASB
1 John 5:13 "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life." NASB

Living forever with God the Father in heaven. No better prize could ever be had.

There are many parables and many examples in the Bible that show us God that wants more for us than just surviving this time on earth. He wants us to have an abundant life.

James 1:17 "Every good thing bestowed and every perfectr gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow." NASB

Just as parents reward their children and give good gifts to them, our heavenly Father gives good and perfect gifts to us. So run the race, stand up for truth, be forgiving, tithe with a joyful heart, try to live the traits that Jesus taught us; and the abundant life promised is more than we could ever fathom and comes in many different forms.
