Praying For Your Pastor And His Family
Your pastor is a servant of the Lord. I'm sure he has many talents and spiritual gifts. No doubt he is gentle and patient and teaches many. 2 Timothy 2:24-26, tells us your pastor needs to be able to restrain himself and not to enter into quarrels nor be resentful. This is so he can instead be kind to everyone and teach.
Your pastor is a vessel of honor, sanctified, prepared and available to be used for every good work of the Lord according to 2 Timothy 2:21 and 2 Timothy 3:17. God actually prepares him, and speaks through him to us and the unsaved. Your pastor was called and had to have had open ears to hear the quiet voice of God. Someone had been praying for him to hear his calling, and we must continue to lift him up in prayer. Remember, not just your pastor, but his family also needs to be covered in prayer. Satan can so distract your pastor by attacking his family.
Your pastor is strong in the grace of the anointed Jesus, according to ll Timothy 2:1-2. He not only teaches us, but other teachers of God's word. He sparks revival in your town or your church family. Sometimes you may have to help hold his arms up like Arron did for Moses. We must help keep him protected as he works hard at shepherding us - his flock. Acts 6:4 reminds us we need to keep our pastor, and elders blanketed in prayer because they are continually giving themselves in prayer for us. Our pastors do not listen to the advise of the unsaved, or ungodly. He doesn't stand in the way of sinners nor judge or criticize. He delights himself in the Word and meditates on in it both day and night. Everything he does, prospers according to Psalm 1:1-3. He's doing the things we aught also to be doing: like meditating, hiding the Word in our heart, praying continuously, loving unconditionally and setting an example. What an awesome job has been laid upon your pastor's shoulders. You must pray for him and his family to keep him strong. Satan will attack the pastors who are making a difference and being obedient to God.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 reminds us that the pastor is among you and is over you in the matters of the Lord. Regard him with the highest amount of respect, love and support and prayer. For he gives himself to you and for you, and works among you, loving unconditionally.
