Life's Questions

Why would God listen to me when I pray? I've done so many terrible and evil things in my life.

Many of the books of the Bible in the New Testament are written by Paul. The passion of Paul's faith was fed by his life before meeting Jesus on the Emmaus Road:

Acts 9:1-2 "Now Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, and asked for letters from him to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem." NASB

Paul radically persecuted God's people before coming to faith in Jesus. Yet the Lord used him mightily in the foundation of the first century church. In our lives if we are humble before God He will hear our prayers:

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." NASB
James 4:10 "Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you." NASB
