The holiness of God and His desire to be known by humanity is evident throughout the Bible. In the Old Testament various sacrifices and offerings were made for mankind to be in a right relationship with the living God. With Jesus birth, death on a cross and resurrection mankind is able to be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ. Here we read the instructions the Lord spoke to Moses about the sin offering His chosen people would need to fulfil so they may be reconciled to God in their disobedience. God speaks about sins of commission (acts of rebellion against God) and omission (not doing the things we should have). The Lord also instructs Moses in the requirements for a guilt offering. The focus of a guilt offering is when someone sins without the knowledge their action is indeed sin. The Lord continues to dictate to Moses specific instructions for the priesthood (Aaron and his sons) in regards to their duties in presenting burnt, grain, and sin offerings before the Lord.
