March 23rd 2020 Edition: Luke 19 & 20; Psalms 32
Luke 19 & 20 Summary: The account of Zacchaeus the Tax Collector shows the extent of God's love. God is calling all people into His salvation. By the fruit of his actions we know Zacchaeus entered into fellowship with Jesus and is repenting for his sins. We learn through another one of Jesus' parables if we are good stewards of what God has entrusted to us more will be put into our care to manage. When Jesus arrives at the Mount of Olives many praises are offered to God. The time has come for many Old Testament prophecies concerning Jesus death to be fulfilled. As Jesus makes His way to the temple He rebukes those who have caused it to become a market and unholy. The religious leaders begin to scrutinize Jesus looking to falsely accuse Him and turn the crowds against Him. Through the use of parables and teaching addressing their accusations Jesus addresses their comments while remaining loyal to God the Father. Through prayer Jesus has already been strengthened to face His crucifixion so that all people may be saved. Psalm 32 Summary: Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit King David tells of what it is like to be blessed. He describes the joy of entering into the salvation offered by the Lord God.
